Typically all they do is temporarily disable things like ITunes background services which you didn't need to install in the first place but Apple software insisted on enabling them by default. They dont actually "boost" anything, as if your machines processors have hidden powers this software can magically enhance with advanced windows settings nobody else except the company making the software has heard of, tis a bunch of twaddle. The biggest help though for machines not designed to run games like skyrim, is to run the game with windows aero off ( choose a classic desktop theme ) which will save between 75-130mb VRAM, and run the game in window mode.Īnd obviously with a challenged machine, you need to be very careful what mods you add and the resulting extra strain / bottlenecks they can cause on your system ( lots of hi res textures for example, or many heavily scripted mods )īackground boosters are rubbish, they are all about advertising and really only turn off background services you could do yourself just by being careful what you allow to install on your machine. If you have a look at the description of that mod I also give a few recommended mods to add to that.Īnd the Article for a few more tweaks should help out

I dont know if my suggestion wil help, you have no system specs apart from mention of a laptopīut anyway, I have a laptop which is minimum specification ( 4gb System RAM, Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz, Geforce 8600m with 512mb VRAM ( Used to be just 256mb VRAM ) )Īnd run the game very smoothly with my Vanilla Reduced Textures installed ( See my signature - I still run the 256 version even though I can run the 512 version, games smoother ).
